I haven't had time yet to read all the way through the material, a great deal is claimed. My uniformed reaction to anything that sounds too good to be true is that it usually isn't. Still this is offered up for comment and general interest. |

The real question is, when will Parts Express begin stocking the modules?

My reaction is it's probably a boring switching/Class D design with a nice hyperbolic ribbon tied around it by the marketing department.

It seems to me that switching/Class D amps will become the mainstay of pro PA amps in the future...
Lightweight, high power, very efficient. pretty cheap. And probably with better sound...... Are there any mainstream pro amps of this type out yet?

It is, for one example, what is in the JeffRowland 201 and 501 amps. You may find a review (in French) on the JR page for the 201 amp.

![]() I wonder how they sound- maybe better than their conventional amps with switching power supplies?

IMHO those companies also produce amps without SMPS and
ClassD for sound reasons. You might take a look at the Crest 8002 or the QSC ISA 1350 Uli ![]() ![]() ![]()

I know people who been producing products with these units for 2 years now. This seems like old news.
Sorry, Bill, I don't think PE will be carrying them soon. Jocko |
