Does anyone out there have any experience with the Audire Parlando? I have found a deal on this amp and am considering this amp to drive my B&W Matrix 801s,and would like opinions on this .The B&W speakers are 87 db. and the Parlando is rated at 100 W.P.C..I am using a Audio Research LS2 preamp and a B&K Ref 4420 amp at the present. The B&K is rated at 225 W.P.C. I have read that the 801s require lots of power, and am a bit skeptic on the Parlando, although it is a class a amp,I fear it may not have the power for the 801s. I am far from content at the present with my present setup, and am thinking the amp upgrade may be the ticket. I have a modest budget, and am not considering over 2000.00 amps. I can get in to the Audire Parlando for half of that, and would like opinions on this possible match. Your opinions would be appreciated. Jeff

I used to own that B&K amp too. Mine caught on fire!
The Audire amps I have heard sound great, but really don't have enough to run a pair of 801s for me. I used to sell B&W speakers, when I think 801, 'the black hole' comes to mind. I would consider a Crown Macro Reference for the 801, you could find a real clean one for less than $2K. |

I'm not really looking to get lots of volume-db. I would probably never surpass 95-100db. for any reason, normally play at around 85db.My manin concern is the ohm load and quality of sound.good base and detail-etc. I think the 801s will go down to around 4 ohm or so and need an amp that will handle this.I have read articles from some B&W 801 owners claiming to of run them with 50 wpc amps, and were very happy with it. If it is only a db thing,I think I could live with it,but the quality of sound is what I am after. Jeff

In that case I think you would like the Audire.

Thanks again for your reply DJK.I am located in a rural community and don't have an oppurtunity to audition much for audio. I get most of my information from reviews, etc. I realize most every one has a different ear for sound and I consider this also.I have only found one review on this amp,it was a very good review, but would like to hear of more from other owners also. I am considering this amp in the 1000.00 range. This seems the best amp for the money at this time.I know when I look at amps in the 2000.00 range, there is much more to choose from, but am not sure if the quality is any better than the parlando. Any information from anyone is appreciated. Jeff
