ps bypass caps on sub plate amp?

would it be of any benefit to bypass the 2 10k ps caps on a 240 watt rms sub plate amp with some .1 uf stacked films as they don't apear to be of high quality or, due to the limited frequency range would it be a waste of time? thanks, crippledchicken

hi stocker, that's kind of what i thought so, if i get a chance, i think i'll try it just to see if it makes a difference at all as i've never tried it on a sub amp yet. thanks, crippledchicken

bypass caps are best used as close as possible to the output devices. this is going to entail taking the amp apart -- and you might find that the manufacturer already bypassed them.

More than 90% of all equipment lacks proper power supply bypass caps.

True in my case... My own sub plate amp was bypassed with 2x4700uF and that's it.
