Hi
Im about to make a deal about some Parasound gear. The units are the Parasound HCA-806A power amplifier and the P/SP-1500 pre amplifier. Can anyone tell me the good & bad things about the units together and/or individually. Are they usefull for 2-channel stereo and 5,1 digital surround to the standards of today. (not 6,1 & 7,1 obviously). Any comments wanted! Best Regards |

The price of the gear is about 650 $ for both units.
(for price comparison a new HCA 855 is priced at 1850 $ i Dk) Unfortunately the amp has a small defect. Sometimes one or more channel shuts down for a while. My dad however is a retired electro mechanic (or what its called?) so he should be able to fixe it easily. Or what? |

That is too much money to pay for gear that is not working. Parasound is not all that great either. I see Parasound HC-50??in pawn shops here on occasion and when I researched them they are unreliable models with design flaws that cause things like thermal shutdown. There are so many true deals to be had on Ebay just wait.

Hi,
I use a psp 1500 for listening to sacd and dvd_audio and have been very pleased. My unit has not given me any problems and I like the sound quality. I think it can be bought for about $200 usd. Hope this helps. God bless... Mark |
