Please help. I have just finished the P101 from ESP. I am
delighted with the results. The heat spreader is 1/4" thick AL. I would like to tap threads for the RCA jacks, but cannot identify the tap I need. Can anyone tell me the tap size? Thanks .... Steve

I think we'll need a little more info. Maybe a picture and/or brand of the RCA?

are you sure that you want to ground your input jacks to the chassis? It certainly has been done, but ground loops are easier to eliminate if the RCA is isolated from the chassis.

The RCA jacks I have are Dayton Audio, solder type, part number 090-278. They are gold. I presume all threaded RCA jacks with this type of nut are the same thread..... (And maybe I'm wrong)...
Thanks for the comment about avoiding ground loops. I think I have this under control.

Hi Steve,
No, they are not all the same size. Take the jack to a hardware store and try different nuts on. Be aware it may be metric or imperial. -Chris |

The hardware store will likely have a gauge board with different threaded holes you can try it in. Are you looking for the thread size of the plastic part or the tiny brass part on the end. The plastic part should be a standard imperial thread size, as the metal nuts typically used on these are (wait, I'm thinking of the Dayton binding posts - sorry).
