Ok so im having a go at rod's preamp project 88: http://sound.westhost.com/project88.htm
I want to build the unit as a self contained unit including the power supply. My question is can anyone recommend a nice stable, mains powered, PSU for this project which i can include in the box with out the needs for a wall transformer? Wound i be able to use this PSU design http://sound.westhost.com/project05.htm And just include a 16v transformer wired straight up in the case with the mains connector on the back? Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time, Scribble |

I didn't read through all that article but if you just need a +/- 15 V PSU then here is the one I made:

Hi,
You can use the P05 preamplifier supply with no problems at all, and you can put a 16 - 20v transformer inside the box, just make sure it's placed far enough from the preamp. If this is not possible, that u can put a buffer between the tx and the preamp (piece of metal, etc.). Udi. |
