Default What to do with my leftover Toshibas

So, I am replacing the guts of my old, half dead amp with a Leach. I'm waiting on my brother to do some machining on my heatsinks, so here I sit.

Wait, I still have a good channel from my old amp, which means I have 2 pairs of Toshiba 2SC2565/2SA1095s sitting here doing nothing.

I could A) take half the old driver board and the outputs and make a mono amp, or b) break up the pair and make a smaller stereo amp. I like B.

I need some help though. I am not skilled enough to design a driver stage for these, and the original driver stage is made up of very hard to find transistors (one channel of which actual exploded).

Anyone have some simple design ideas I could use here? Maybe just point me in the right direction? I know these Tos's are hard to find (non-conterfit that is), so I woul dhate them to go to waste.

Thanks-
b

Depending on what you want, you could go as simple as a quickie follower on a good-audio-qualit op-amp. Front end is no worry then!

Looking at the P3A. I read somewhere you could use the 2sc5200 in this circuit. The 2565 has the same specs except for a lower Vcbo (160 instead of 200) and a higher fT (80MHz instead of 30).

Think it will work? Not experienced enough know.

Thanks-
Brian

I was going to suggest P3a. It will work fine with your transistors.

Are they just drop in replacements? Will I need any special mods (values) to accomidate? I thin kI need to do some serious reading.

Aso, you thin kI should build with some alternates first, then switch over to the toshibas (risk of smoking, etc)? You think these Toshibas are worth it?

Just do it!

They will drop straight in. The design is quite forgiving and will take almost anything except Darlingtons.
