Are there any people here that have experience with amplifiers that can supply approx. 20W into 8 Ohm, but 160W into 1 Ohm.
In this case a decent size amplifier should be able to sound like a very heavy one, but just misses a few dB's. From my experience 20W amplifier is loud enough for normal operation, and with class A operation, the power bill doesn't get too high. After all, for 3dB increase in sound pressure you have to double the power. My question is not HOW to build one, but, HOW does it sound ? |
