Hi,
I started to build my Leach amp. I thought the transistors 2N3439 and 2N5416 were TO-5 and I put them into TO-5 heatsinks shown here (please see the first one on top of the page) : heatsink 2N3439 and 2N5416 are actually TO-39 and they fit very very tight into the heatsink. Can the case handle this? I even cannot take them out. Thanks, Murat |

The nominal diameter of both TO-39 and TO-5 is the same (.325"). Just pry them apart a bit with a screwdriver..
