So, I am reworking the published Leach form pattern for my amp, and I got pretty confused by two solder pads that appear to be unused (see pic).
At first I thought maybe they were for grounding the heat sink for Q16/17, but that doesn't seem right (or the right way to do it) and there is no mention in the assembly instructions he provides. Have other people noticed this as well, or am I just staying up too late? Thanks- b |

It's kind of hard to tell by the image you posted but couldn't it be for the purpose of putting a larger variant of C16 and C15. It gives you a second hole for a capacitor with a larger lead spacing.

Hey Brian,
Spot on Killjoy99. http://users.ece.gatech.edu/~mleach/lowtim/part3.html under "Capacitors (First type listed is preferred.)" 'C2, C3, C15, C16, C23, C24, C25 - 0.1 uF, 100 V film (DigiKey P4725-ND, 0.4 inch or 0.2 inch hole spacing)' And some of us use poly caps that fit the wider hole pattern. Prosit
