I'm new to building audio components and am looking to save some money, have some fun and build some quality. I'm pretty set on putting together the subwoofer described here (it looks awesome):
http://sound.westhost.com/project48.htm but don't know what sort of amplifier I should drive it with (or how to wire in the controller that's described in the project). I've been reading a bit, and have seen the Parts Express 250W amplifier, as well as the M250 that's described in another thread here at diyaudio.com - but don't know what sort of quality I need to make it not overheat, sound good while not breaking the budget. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

The LM3886 bridged and paralleled is a good candidate i think.
using better tolerance resistors and caps, you can ommit the servo circuit so that leaves the rest circuitary pretty simple |
