I have a NAD 2200 that has blown, I took it in for repair, the Voltage selector has blown and is I am told no longer available, i need to replace this to trace the further problems, the unit was hard wired to see if it would power-up, but no response, anyone know of a source for this part?

Hi erdebear,
Check for continuity on the primary. The thermal fuse may have opened. After that you can just hard wire the voltage selector. -Chris |

Sorry, couldn't resist. You should see how many people blow up their amp with the owners manual! (on top) -Chris |

Sorry for the delay, I could not get on the site again!! i had not used the amp for a while, I turned it on, but no power, so i opened it up to look for a blown fuse, but found them OK, I saw that the voltage selector looked loose, the top of it was not flush with the holder, i checked and it lifted out of the body and the connectors looked scorched. I put it back in, lined up with the 240v mark, powered it up, and the light came on for a second or two, and then phut, the voltage selector flashed. I do not have enough tecnical know-how to go much further, i took it into a repair shop, who could not get a replacment selector, they hard-wired it and said it was still dead, and as the part was not available, it was not an economic repair, so I have it back. so do not quite know what to do with it now? As I said its a great amp and I miss it. i replaced it with an Arcam 290 pre/power combo, though the integrated/pre was blown when i bought it, I had it repaired, two input transistors, and it has blown again recently, so now have the Nad 1155 pre and arcam 290 power. Does anyone know if this a weakness on the 290P integrated/Pre amp?
Thanks anyhow. |
