Hi,
The active low x-over input of Infinity's RS-1B system has an impedance matching circuit, with a few switch settings to match the electronic crossover unit to the input impedance of the mid-high power amp. The system consists of two mid-high screens and two woofer columns which have the electronic servo x-over. The mid-high screens have a passive x-over. The input circuit is shown on the x-over image. Mind you, this is a twenty-two year old system. Is the impedance matching still necessary, because I don't see it being used in todays active x-overs. If necessary, can it be simplified in terms of components or replaced by another more suitable circuit? Thanks for any advice. Franklin

OK
I say it's not necessary. ![]() Get rid of the switch networks and adjust the 5.1 nF value for the input impedance of the amp and the crossover frequency you want. 2 * 3.14 * freq = 1 / (resistance * farads ) Apparently the original was crossed at 150 Hz or so with 5 nF and 200 Kohm |

Mr Gromanswe,
I am of Viking blood myself. Yes, Eric the Viking of the Great Southern Land. You do your countrymen a great disservice by continually posting rubbish such as yours. If I were a Swede, I would be ashamed to say so in your company. Other members here come to read and share audio information, and your idiotic posts are a plain PITA. SO, CUT THE CRAP OR GO AWAY AND ANNOY A DIFFERENT FORUM ON THE NET - THERE ARE PLENTY FOR YOU TO CHOOSE FROM - PERHAPS GO TO SOME CONSPIRACY THEORY, OR FREE ENERGY, OR UFO, OR MENTAL HEALTH SELF HELP FORUM. PERHAPS YOU CAN FIND ONE WHERE YOU ARE IN LIKE COMPANY. Any backups to have this fruitcake banned from this forum ?. |

Gromanswe,
Your last post seems to suggest that you are a (believing) christian! However, your behaviour on this forum is quite unbecoming of one.
