Looked on the web couldn't find them on line...
...an URL that actually *has* schematics would be nice. Looking for the 1593/1594/1590 series in particular - or any of those early Altecs that used (gasp) output transformers... Talkin' solid state amps now... Please don't mention that Altec site that has lots of user manuals and very few if any schematics... "the unofficial Altec site" or whatever... Tia - jpegs <500k or .pdfs gratefully appreciated direct to my email address! _-_-bear

I'll make you a deal on a couple of 1590 and throw in the schemas.
Horrible amps. 9440 is good. |

I have the schematics. I also have a 1590 if you want one. As DJK has mentioned they are bad amps. They make better boat anchors. They are very easy to fix. Why would you want to?
DJK I have a very nice 9440 for sale if you are interested. |

Are there transistors you need help in finding a replacement for? If you are needing a working 1590 let me know. I will make a real deal on it. Feel free to email me. Meanwhile I will find and dust off my Altec schematics. Joe |

Its not that the 1590 series is so horrible its just that they take up so damn much rack space, they are heavy, and they are only suited for page applications. Actually they work fine as long as you don't use them with a watch card system to monitor operation. De bias them somewhat and they work fine. A classic example of an Altec workhorse. |

I am pretty sure they are available at the One Electron site in the pro equipment schematics section of the "dusty files" area

I sent both an email from this website... dunno if they actually go anywhere or not.
Yes, I know how horrid they are, tnx. Please don't ask what I'm gonna do with them... I still need a schematic. Scanned and emailed would be great: bear at bearlabs dot com thanks... As far as purchasing, sure, as long as the $$ is pretty close to the cost of shipping, I'm game.

I sent them again and they weren't returned. Let me know if you received them.
I have 1593's and 1594's also. |
