I'm kinda at a loss here. trying to design a mosfet amplifier to drive at lowest a 4ohm load but cant' seem to come up with anything.
I admit I'm fairly new to electronics and have done a few preamp designs but never a power amp.
as far as design I'm trying to keep it simple and reliable.
with sound quality little worried about it but more so worried about learning from this project then anything.
want soemthign that when it goes into clipping does so soft like since it will see some duty as a guitar amp.
any help here guys?

Here's a couple ideas.
There's a popular JFet guitar preamp circuit floating around the net, adapt it into a power amp circuit.
Start with a Zen model and adapt from it? It's simple and straightforward place to start.
If you're looking for simple, class-A is the place to be. Not without it's trade offs.
