Sanken 2SC3264 in JLH?

Anyone tried these?

I'd run 2 pairs, 0.1 ohm emitter resistors, 22 volt rails and 4A bias to suit my 'difficult' Tannoy DC2000s. Difficult in that they measure 2.5 ohms at DC and probably not much more at low frequencies.

Hi bremen nacht,

Go for it. It is possible for JLH amps to oscillate when fitted with modern output transistors, but an output Zobel can normally control that.

I will go for it!

One of the things I like about them is that they have 2 mounting holes - that must be good for thermal conductivity.

60MHz compared to 2N3055's 2.5MHz, yeah I can see that might be a problem. I reckon the Tannoys will be pretty inductive, and I'll be making monoblocks so cable capacitance won't amount to much. Any implications there?

Hi bremen,

They won't acheive 60MHz in a JLH circuit with such a high impedance drive.

Implications - as with the JLH's - very clean sound up to about half of maximum power, but getting soft beyond that with multi-driver loudspeakers.

With Tannoys the sound will be something to look forward to.
