I want to build a basic GainClone.. just a 2 channel. I have been looking around and reading about it all night but I'm really confused with the amp portion of it. I've searched this forum and the GainClone forum.. and some of the links I found in there actually made the confusion worse.
I just can't seem to find a schematic/layout that matches any parts lists that I find... either the parts list has too much stuff in it or the specs don't match the schematics.. and some schematics had stuff the parts list didn't have... I have Harman Kardon HKB6s, which are rated at 8 ohm and 45 watts.. 6-1/2" mid and a 3/4" tweeter. I have some experience with building stuff, it's just that I can't figure out what it is I need. Keep in mind, I'm upgrading from some Aiwa mini-HTIAB thing from 1997, so I'm sure most anything could beat it. I don't know if I really want to go all out with this first build, I'd like to start off as simple and cheap(within reason) as possible before I start experimenting. So can anyone help out a poor confused newb? |
