I am mounting this amplifier
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showt...769#post373769 and the PCB http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showt...332#post365332 Taht is suposed to get 100W RMS 4 Ohm at +/-30V, is that possible with a so low voltage? What is the maximum voltage that can I use safly ,to get more output power Is this a nice amplifier shematic? Tanks |

O Portimao, Portimao, que saudades....
Lots of current, lots of it.... Check the component parameters and you'll see if it will be possible to use bigger voltages... My embrace to Praia da Rocha....

No, of course it can't deliver anywhwere near 100W at 4 ohms. Matter of fact, it will blow up in your face if you try and build it, the bias diodes are all in backwards.
The maximum output swing is very limited by the rail voltage to the IC, then you have to subtract the losses in the output stage. The NE5532 will only swing a maximum of ±12V when powered off of ±15V, the EF output stage will only get within ±3V of that, so you will only get ±9V output (peak), about 10W at 4 ohms. Look at an ESP 3A with ±42V, that will do 100W/4R, the transformer would best be a 30-0-30 200VA with a pair of 8,200µF 50V filter caps http://sound.westhost.com/project3a.htm |
