As the title suggests, I an interested about such a preamp.
Anyone that knows about a similar project somewhere? Any idea where to start? I actually need only two virtual in's, one for the dvd-a/sacd player and one for the computer, but still, these will count as 12 in's which ain't no joke. Of course, some remote control functionality will be appreciated too, but at first, the basics |

I've seen a few threads on this type of project... the biggest decision seems to be choosing a 6-gang pot or some kind of VCA for the volume control.

Go to:
http://www.siliconchip.com.au/ Search for volume control an select the 6-channel volume control project. Add more boards for as many channels you need. Seems I'm going to try this with 8 balanced channels... Should you want to purchase a kit for it then http://www.altronics.com.au/ sells a kit at AUD 200 complete with case and stuf it seems.

Anyways, it's a point and if I don't get anything else, well, I'll have a closer look |

Unless you need surround processing, 3 x stereo will also work and 2-ch preamp circuits are very easy to find, even here on the forum. My own DVD player has 6-ch output so all I really need is volume control, which I accomplish with a mixer.
