Default BD139 subtstitution in Power Follower 99c

Can I substitute the BD139 in the Power Follower 99c with an MJE15030 or an MJE340? If so which would be better?

the bd139 has different qualities than mje340
bd139 can take higher power than mje340
but i think you should stick with bd139
the ft of device might be critical or even the power
the power follower uses the bd139 to control Iq
so it shouldn't be too critical on the device chosed
bd139 is cheaper than the others
email the guy to confirm the choice

Ah, thanks. I guess I'll just order some, not expensive, it's just that it's a hassle. But if I want it done right...

I'd stick with the 139... BD devices are not bad at all, IMHO, but one thing to be careful with is that they're VERY sensitive to abuse. It's easy to blow one if you get past a voltage/current limit even by little.
