Line level signal delay circuit

Anyone have a design for a circuit that would delay a line level signal by an adjustable amount of time? I plan to use it in between my active crossover's outputs and the input for my tweeter amps in order to achieve proper phase alignment of my drivers without having a stepped baffle. Any other comments on this idea would be very welcome.

A pure time delay is not easy to achieve with analog technology (digital would be better choice).

With allpass filters an approximation of a time delay is possible. However, for high frequencies and/or long delays You`d need a lot of OP-Amp. filter stages in series (noise, distortion).
Depending of the requirements of your application, maybe You can still get away with "reasonable" amounts of circuity in the signal path.

For an entry take a look here:

for more information google the web for: time-delay, allpass filters
You`ll find plenty to read
