Any info on Hitachi 2SJ217/2SK1297 UHC-MOS devices?

Well, I was just going through some older DENON literature and it looks like their flagship mono amps (from mid 90's) are using those devices.

Seems like an interesting circuit with a single push-pull circuit delivering 1400W into 1 ohms.

Hi Peter,
I've never seen that. If possible can you scan the whole leaflet and email it to me ? I'll be grateful !
Thanks,
Ashok.

Actually, it is a very interesting amp design, so I will post it the whole leaflet here in 8 parts.

IIRC the monoblocks were selling for $20,000.

This was probably the best amp ever made by Denon.

I especially like the mechanical aspects of the whole construction. If you notice the heatsinks are probably cast and a plate of copper is placed on the whole contact area. This definitely helps with heat transfer (from devices to the sink)

Also mechanical grounding (with specific location of feet) seems to be very important here.

At the same time Denon also relesed a matching preamp, transport and DAC, similarly overbuilt.

Well, that's all.

I hope you enjoyed that little slide show;)
