Has anyone got any upgrade recommendations on the john linsley hood 80W MOSFET amplifier, currently sold by Williams Hart as their diy model?
I currently own the stereo version with power supply upgraded to a single high power transformer, elna cerafines, fast but soft recovery diodes and pass regulator mosfets upgraded to SJ56, SK176. I have an ALPS black beauty pot, and Mcap feedback capacitors and panasonic hfz caps on the power amp board.
In particular, is there an upgrade path to widen the soundstage? I listened to a friends ageing pioneer, shocked to find it had a wider soundstage.
Also, one channel seems about 10% louder than the other. Is this a fault, or should I just adjust the pot on that channel.
I would appreciate any comments.
Regards to yuse all.
