Question NP and others: Please critique my class A amp!

Here is an attached schematic of my amp.

I want to be able to have a pretty good bandwidth and be able to adjust the input buffer for some distortion cancellation...

Comments?

Should I replace that 1K resistor on the input buffer with a choke load?

I am still a little confused on what values I should have for the 82K, 1.2K and 3.3K resistors on the input of the BUZ900 and how they relate to gain and input impedance.... can someone tell me?

Other than that... the amp will be powered by a CLC design power supply with 50V 68,000uf caps.

Final question... should I filter the input stage some more? instead of tying the 1K direct to 40V... should I place a small RC filter circuit to seperate the ouput stage PS from the input stage?

Thanks!!!

I believe it will work, but can't predict the quality.

Myself, I don't tend toward using output transformer - in
this case because you suffer the nonlinearities of a
magnetic core, but also the step down to 8 ohms implies
a higher swing on the Drain of the Mosfet, and that means
that you'll see more effect of the nonlinear Drain-Gate
capacitance.

Perhaps try a differential amp with feedback for the input for more gain and less nonlinearities?

If the core of the transformer is large enough and the impeadence matches, nonlinearites due to core saturation should be at a minimum...depends on desired frequency output.
