my old luxman got some problems. so i like to try fix it Do anyone have the Schematic for it? |

The one channel dies, but not completly dead. and its not all the time, but most of the time.
i can use the amp as separeted pre amp and power amp the problem above happens in the power amp part. when i use the preamp part only. there also something wrong it, it sounds like distortion in the high tones, very easy to hear. and when i change to another preamp its gone |

Hi Calebay,
It sounds like switch contacts, clean the controls and switches. Don't forget to clean the output relay contacts. Make sure there is no residue of any kind on the relay contacts (or replace the relay). Use Caig products or De-ox-id (General Cement I think), do not use too much cleaner. BTW, the slip ring in a control is what causes noise, not the carbon track. The carbon track has a protective grease on it, try not to wash it out. Use normal troubleshooting techniques to find the HF distortion in the preamp after you clean the unit up. If you find any bad solder joints, redo them of course, as Netlist suggested. -Chris |
