Hi!
I bought a second hand Arcam D290 amplifier, but the output transistors are missing. Is there anybody who knows this amp? What types of transistors should it has? Thanks! Gyula |

The original MOSFETs in the ARCAM D290 are SEF240.
For this is a rare transistor with few information in the internet, I´m searching for substitute, maybe IRF240. |

Hi loewnhertz!
Yes, the original MOSFETs can be substituted with IRFP240s. Send me your e-mail address, and I send you the service manual. Gyula

Thank you very much!
I hope you meant IRF240, because IRFP240 is in a TO247 case... I´m a new member, so I can´t send you an email directly. If you get this message I would be glad if you could send the manual to loewnhertz@gmx.net thanks, loewnhertz |

Not at all! I fixed up the transistors with one screw of the two, per TO-3 seat. I also fixed a clip to that screw, then flatted the center leg of the transisitor to it and soldered them to each other. But you can follow the way in the manual, just be aware of insulate the package and the screw from the heatsink.
At the PCB's down side, as the manual shows, the two collector pad must be connected with wire, at each TO-3 seat. Good luck and merry christmas!! Gyula
