What do you think about this simple headphones amplifier?
It is designed to work with 600 ohms headphones.
Voltage gain is about 80.
How do I determine the right value of the quiescent current in the output stage? Does it depend on the max current flowing in the load?

R1 = 22 Kohm
R2 = 3.3 Kohm
Rc = 1.2 Kohm

The HSOP package may be a problem to work with, depending on how you plan to build your amp. Note the TI part is basically just an op-amp; if you're running 600 ohm phones an opamp like the OPA2134 will work fine.

First you will need gain of 2-5 and you must have some feedback if you want low distortion.

Peranders is right. If that thing's really got 80 voltage gain, you're either going to kill your hearing or your headphones.
Try the Chu Moy, I started with it too. And the parts are so cheap that you can make serveral & experiment with them. I got 5 of them (of which 4 work & 1 hums ).
If you want something extra, try adding a crossover, it's great when you listen for long periods. It keeps the headace (because of the super stereo effect) away.
