not because he NEEDs one, but because he has sixteen 4700uF 100volt chasis mount caps, and three 250VA transformers.... first things first, I need to buy another three toroidals... +-75 volt rails, I was thinking about the mosfet amp on Rod Elliots site... umm... will this amp give 600watts into 4 ohms?? or aren't the mosfets adequate enough? I think thats my only question for now..

well... that went well.. lol
and I have a question reguarding those amps... they say in the PDF (I am refering to the 800watt amp btw) that a toroidal transformer with a load voltage of 65volts AC is required... right? well... is that at full load or what? I just measured my 9 + 9 volt 250va toroidals, and with about 12amps on one secondary, the voltage dropped to 8 volts... which would mean I would need 8 transformers total... but, then the no load voltage is 9.3 volts..... which means the DC voltage will exceed the reccomended capacitors suggested in the PDF file (it suggests 100volt) OR does it mean 65volts AC, but NOT at FULL load... inwhich case I COULD use 7 transformers total.. lol SEEYA! |

Rod's mosfet P101 has max voltage of +/- 70V and it's rated at 250W RMS into 4 ohms with 380W peak.
600W......... what are you using this for?????? |
