I dug this up after seeing this thread.
Any opinions on the circuit? Anyway to get the gain down without using global feedback?

But I still haven't found a definition (or better, an article) that explains what a SRPP is.

Newer saw this. I think, it's something more sophisticated than this with 1k & 1k in SRPP like upstairs. The basic circuit isn't the best choice ...

Kicking a dead thread, Stee? Why not!

SRPP can work for bipolars as well. Here's something I was playing with in the sim awhile ago.

The idea was to do something like the 1969 JLH, but with a better ratio of output current to idling current.

Series Regulated Push Pull.

Voltage across a sensing resistor in the middle is held to a constant.
In so doing, the upper end learns how much and when to pull up.
