Hello, I recently got a non-working mission cyrus II from a friend. I am repairing mainly tube amplifiers (just as a hobby), but I could not throw away this amp. So last weekend I opened the amplifier, and saw that one of the fuses was blown (the most outside one). So I replaced the fuse with a F4A fuse. I connected my test speaker to the right channel and switched on the cyrusII. But it suddenly destroyed the woofer of my test speaker (a cheap 3way speaker). The midrange and tweeter acted normal. So probably there is something wrong with one of the output transistors? Can you advise me some things to check?
Kind regards, Roeland De Vriese |

The output transistors have blown. You should have checked for DC at the output before connecting anything to it!
