Never tried such a thing...

...but why not?
Looks pretty much like a simple and straight forward MOSFET design.

Specific doubts?

...one disadavantage may be that the max. output swing will be about 10V below the rails at full load condition.
==>My estimation: about 30W...35W rms at 8 Ohms.
