Hi All,
I need to get a large toroidal power transformer for my MOSFET amp currently being designed. I need a "beefy" unit, at least 900VA, dual secondaries, putting out 30-45VAC (hence 40-60V rails ) per secondary from 117VAC input. Where is the best place to buy transformers like this? Mouser/Digikey have a very small selection, even less so toroids. Any advice would be greatly appreciated....this is the missing link between me and having all the parts I need ![]() This is my first major project so I am having trouble sourcing parts such as this...and I want my Hi-Fi system up and running bad! I am sure you all understand- -Matt

If you don't find anything suitable, I have a couple of spare transformers with dual 40V secondaries, which are rated at between 1500 and 2000VA (far more likely to be 2000, going on the size and weight of these things). And, if my memory serves me correctly, the cost to get one (including the shipping) to the USA worked out at about £90-£100.
You can see a bit more in the thread in the trading post section here. |
