I have a Fisher CA-854 amp that has a strange problem. The volume is either all on or all off - there's no middle ground. Doesn't seem to be a pot problem. Any ideas?

A short circuit between wafer and signal on or after the potentiometer?
Both channels or just one?

Check/replace D206 and D207. Both 10V zeners.
