Hello,
Has anybody heard the Mcintosh C26? I have seen some for sale recently, and they seem to sell for a pretty good price. A friend of mine has the C28 which was made at the same time (and sold for a little bit more), so i'm kind of familiar with the Mcintosh sound. What does the C26 sound like? Has anybody listened to both and can offer a comparison of the sound? Also, is it really worth it to pick one of these up, or will modern preamps sound better? I would either buy a c26 or c28 used, or spend $600-$1000 on a new preamp (obviously not mac! lol).. tia Dave |

The C28 is a more popular item than the C26, I think because of the symetrical layout of the front panel controls.
The C26 sounds cleaner IMO. |
