sharp cdba1700h

i need some assistance with my hifi it is a sharp CDBA1700H AND IT HAS GONE ON PROTECT HOW DO I GET IT TO WORK AGAIN OR IS IT TOTALLY HAD IT WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME SORT THIS OUT.

How did it end up in protect mode ? Did you have it blaring away at full blast and all of a sudden it went to protect?

Does it go into protect mode if you power it up with the speakers disconnected ?

Do you have any electronics experience?

i had changed the speakers to different ones cos my dog had attacked one, then a few days later i turned it on and it said protect! i dont know if that helps! iv got a bit of electronics experience but i just havent got a clue with this! please help if you can!

oh and yeah it goes into protect mode with no speakers connected!

were the new ones a lower impedance than the originals ?
