Default Amp Troubleshooting Resources?

HI,

Anybody have suggestions on where to find information on troubleshooting amps? I have a definitive sub and the amp roasted a couple of burned resistors and diodes are obvious. the woofer is blown too. it roasted at the same time it blew the fuse. i was thinking about replacing the roasted electronics adn seeing what happens but if i can learn more first it would be good.
