This is probably an untrodden path for a reason , I can see stability may be an issue . Has anyone tried a JLH or DOZ type-amp with a choke load ? I have several pairs of large >100mH chokes on the junk pile and was wondering if this is feasible and point to any examples .

cheers

Many, many years ago, some radar engineers working at GEC (?) Basildon designed a push-pull class A amplifier with a centre-tapped transformer and RF silicon power transistors. The centre-tap was fed from a DC inductor. This boosted the output voltage (but not the current) on demand. The only other bit I remember was that it used a uA702 input stage. I understand that it caught on and was made in significant numbers by other engineers. I also believe that the "fidelity" was pretty good.
