Hi guys,

first of all sorry for my bad english and some stupid questions about solid state amplifiers: I'm an hobbyist and this is my first "big" amplifier; normally I try to repair car stereo amps.

This old CROWN has one channel broken with defective transistors. The good channel mounts C8187-4 (NPN) and C8188-2 (PNP), the other 2 x MJ21194G + 2 x MJ15024G as NPN and 2 x C8188G and two other transistor without sign on it as PNP ...

May I change NPN transistor with MJ15024 and PNP transistor with MJ15025 ?

Now a stupid question ...

In order to avoid a "flash", what can I try (do) before switch on the amp ? The broken board is mistreated a lot ...
