I have a problem with sound cutting off. it will play for a while and them no sound. there is a button on the left side that when you push it in one of the three relays clicks in. this is not working when there is no sound coming out. can any one suggest someone to up-grade or repair this amp.

It helps to have at least a schematic as a pointer to details of the amplifier you are talking about, such as: Technics SE-9060 - Stereo/Mono Power Amplifier - HiFi Engine
Registration is required but at least that's free.

The relays perform the speaker switching with 1 each channel for main/remote speaker selection and a third relay manages mono/stereo switching of the outputs - apparently allowing both channels to be connected in bridged mode.

There is a single discrete DC protection circuit (TR301, 302) which will prevent all relays actuating if DC is detected at the output of either power amplifier and this circuitry is a likely problem, assuming the amplifiers are working fine until this protection circuit kicks in (probably as the amplifier begins to warm up). At this age, caps like C301 have probably deteriorated and the protection threshold may no longer work correctly.

If only one channel shows signs of life however, it's possible that the protection circuit is just doing its job and preventing operation because a serious problem with the output stage of one channel has been sensed. To test this, you will need to measure for DC of more than say, 100 mV at the output of both power amplifiers. Right at the output coils L201 and L202 and before the relays would be an easily found location. This could be an expensive fix but test first. Whilst you are in there and testing, verify the voltages in the voltage stabilizer circuit, TR401-406 as clearly marked in blocks on the schematic. (All voltages wrt ground)

BTW, this appears to be your first post, so welcome to the forum but if you are just looking for a repair service but can't find one for some reason, you need to tell us where you are located or at least your range of access. Your signature says nothing about you - not even the country you live in and that sure makes it hard to offer suggestions.
