WOW...I'm impressed. It works - at least with the headphones on (I use this in my garage to power speaker in the garage in in my landscape).


Anyway, I don't know how you know some much Craig....but I'm really grateful for the help!!!!!!!!! You saved me a ton on what Interwest Electronics would have charged me here in SLC, UT.


This is the second time on the diyAudio board where members have fixed issues for me. The other was the FM issue on this same Adcom preamp. Guess Adcom had some issues or its just old (like me 58yrs).


Craig you sure taught this old dog some tricks.


I'm not sure what part fixed the issue. I replaced the IC553 and both R951/2. The IC553 was a bear to get to.

IC553 is what fixed it, the resistors were replaced so it wouldn't happen again.

Glad you got it working.

IC553 is a dual opamp, one for the right and one for the left, it's hit or miss which one goes if not both.
