What is the difference between these two models?
Were can i find this information?

I guess we could say they are the same family but the 717 will be a bit more powerful and have some more features.

Worked on a few of these...the 717 is designed for a bit more power (85W vs 65W), and the 717 has a bit nicer tone control section, as well as film caps in coupling locations where in a few spots the 517 uses an electrolytic.

Very closely related units though...

This particular series of Sansui integrated units always command and high price on ebay. Are they especially good?

The 517 usually goes fairly cheap, but the 717 commands a lot more money.

I think both are very good amps (but kind of a PITA to work on..) If you find a decent deal on a 717, go for it.
