To me, that chip is okay, but you need a lot of circuitry around it...
I'd suggest the LM1036 (dual DC controlled Volume/Tone/Balance Circuit). It has comparable data (except the slightly worse crosstalk attenuation), but offers more flexibility (tone/balance control) at no extra components...

My power supply for lm 3886 is + -37 V
can I use a zener diode or a lm 317 regulator for making the voltage for lm1036 taken from the +37 of my supply?
I had already ordered a free sample of lm1036 for my proto type ( low cost "hifi" amp )
