Can anyone recommend a favorite op amp that will work with a single supply (+14VDC)? The application is for a car subwoofer LP filter and LR summer. Thanks.

Almost any modern opamp can be used at 14 VDC. Just check the datasheets for min supply voltage.

Are you saying put +14V at +Vcc and 0V at -Vee? I've always been told this is a no-no.

When using a single supply you need to bias the non-inverting input to a DC level, typically 1/2 the supply voltage, to give the opamp some "swing" to handle AC voltages. You also need to AC couple your signals so there's no DC component between stages.
You can do that with almost any opamp, but you'll be limited to how much AC signal you can handle because the common mode range is usually 2-3 volts from either supply rail. That means you can only get 6-8 volts pk-pk from a 12v supply. FET input amps are worse for this than bipolars. Single-supply amps are designed to run closer to the rails. Linear Technology's LT1213 is pretty nice.
