Preamp main outputs

I would like to compare amplifiers without connecting and disconnecting too many cables. My Klyne LXP3/P preamplifier has 2 main outputs, 1 and 2 but there is no switch to switch from Main 1 to Main 2 and viceversa.

What's the purpose of having two main outputs if I cannot switch between them? The owners manual has only 11 pages and does not have enough content, most of it refers to the phono section, impedance and cartridge loading, that is it.

Hi,

I assume, main1 and main2 are simply both "on" all the time. This configuration is useful for bi-amping - 2 stereo power amps are running from the same pre-amp simultaneously.

Also if you wanted to feed a digital processor that drove side or rear speakers. Or additional powered woofers.

...or dedicated headphone amplifier, one to power amp, one to headphone amp

and one could add DC blocking to one output. Then you have a DC coupled output and an AC coupled output.
