Has anyone ever replaced the input selector rotary switch on a preamp with a switch that has more positions? I have a Toshiba SY-300 Mk. II preamp, and it only has Tuner/Phono/Aux 3-position rotary switch. I'd like to swap in a 5-position switch, as well as add a switch to defeat the RIAA circuit, as I have a vacuum tube phono stage I'd rather use on that input.
I found a 2-pole 5-position rotary switch on eBay for $8.50 shipped, which is sealed and has a split shaft like the Toshiba amp. Hoping it can be an easy drop-in.
Thoughts?
Charles.

Don't do it. Get this: Black 3 Way Port Audio Video AV RCA Switch Selector Box Splitter & 3 RCA Cable Sale-Banggood.com. Yes it is ugly, but easy. E

Or you can build your own better quality selector in a box and run the output into the tape monitor input,
bypassing the internal selector switch.
