marantz 1060 transformer

Hi everyone I am new to the DIY website and am just entering into the realm of electronics. Prior to this I was mostly an audiophile type, now I want to know how exactly it is that the amps operate. My question here is how do you measure a transformer for its proper specs? I wish to replace the EI transformer with a toroidal type but don't have the specs. Can anyone help me there? Is this even a good idea? I'm thinking this is a good idea because Naim uses toroids in their amps.....Any help is apprecited!

Don't even think about it.

You want to tweak that amp up...cool. But swapping out the transformer is NOT the way to go, for more reasons than I care to go into.

Forget it.

Your "old" transformer are just fine for audio

I have a Marantz 2215b with an open primary winding. Do you know, or can you direct me to, the voltage amperage ratings for this transformer?
