Default quad 405 amplifier and clone boards from China

Hello Everybody,
I have recently acquired a QUAD 405 amp from somebody who has modified it and also has a had a go at repairing one of the boards!
The original 10000uF capacitors will be replaced by new and reliable European made electrolytic capacitors ( I think the brand is BHC ) and so will the 2 channel amplification boards by chinese clones.
Since the amplifier has been fiddled with by the previous owners, I suspect everything including the connectors to be incorrectly plugged and also the wiring.
From what I can make out after reading some horror stories on the internet, most of these cloned boards oscillate because the wrong ground or signal ground terminals have been connected to them.
Any input/suggestions/advice shall be greatly appreciated at this point while my parts are in the mail and my patience is at its best!

The original Quad grounding error is only perpetuated with boards that have been copied directly from the early Quad PCB layouts. Most kit PCBs have been amended as per the corrections shown on a few Quad-mod sites.
QUAD 405 Amplifier Information and Modification
Note there are a few Ebay kits, trying to look like the original Quad design, complete with olde worlde fittings and components. There is also at least one board with modern plastic power transistors to suit fitting in a standard type case.

As the 405 problems have been resurrected here many times, why not search the existing threads, I count at least 10 treating the grounding issue. Here's an interesting
one: Kit building Quad 405 Clone
