Hello fellow audio enthusiasts!

I have a little problem with a vintage Denon SA-3350 amplifier. Both STK078 ICs have been replaced with STK086 as these were the only ones I could find that were decent.

However now I have some weird distortion (could be crossover distortion, i`m not sure as I don`t have a scope), at very low volume it sounds OK, but as I raise the volume it sounds kind of crackly, and starts to sound somewhat normal again at high volume.

The STK078 is 25W and the STK086 is 70W but the circut is exactly the same and they are perfectly pin compatible, however the STK086 needs a recomended voltage of ±42V and max ±55V. The amps power supply has ±32V. Could this be the issue?

Note: the DC offset is also qiet high, at about 80mV
