Default Danger....

Be very carefull. If the unit is double insulated, connecting an earth could be dangerous. Also could possibly cause eath loop problems.

Could you explain how this could be dangerous?

Connecting the green/yellow lead to the chassis is not a problem from a safety point of view. You could get problems with hum from groundloops though.

You could also just leave the green/yellow lead unconnected.

(The protective earth lead is always of green/yellow colour in Sweden)

Was thinking more along the lines of Live chassis TV sets, although I don't know of any audio equipment that uses a live chassis, I wouldn't rule out the possibility!

But yeah chances are slim that it would be a saftey issue, although I think groundloops would be a real possibilty.
