Preamp Building
I would suggest that instead of copying a old or exsisting design that you design your own preamp with the features you desire it to have. It is a great learning experiance and provides much greater satisfaction.
It is not as difficult as you may think. Who knows perhaps you will come up with a new standard of performance that all will strive for.
